Postcard Travels with Roland Poland - Week 35 Hungary

The Xong family are in Budapest for the Bartok Festival.

He writes to his half-brother Malcolm,

Dear Malcolm,
As you can see, there is
even a black dog on the stamp.
Xui has kept me in the hotel as he knows
fireworks frighten me and this is what I can
see thru' the triple glazed windows.
What's happening to me?
RP

Here are the pages we made for his travel book.  We have included the musicians Franz Liszt and Bela Bartok together with the Hungarian Coat of Arms and two very old pieces of art, the 10th Century Kepes Kronika and a drawing on an ancient Italian fresco of a Hungarian warrior.  The postcard with the dancing dogs is from 1905 and is written in Hungarian.

The postcard Roland Poland has chosen is the firework display he saw from his bedroom window, over Buda Castle in Budapest.  It was made with 3D Pearl paint and glitter.  The buildings have been cut out from a photograph.

Thanks for stopping by and I do hope you will visit the other travellers on our challenge. (link in sidebar)

  1. Brilliant page, you have managed to include so much history and culture and the fun postcard of the dogs. Firework postcard looks very effective.

  3. very cool! it's a sad thing to be afraid of fireworks, but alas I see why they would be scary - loud noises - bright flashing sparks - and fire, one must never forget they have a fiery tail.
