Thought I had better make a Christmas card this time - just one of the long list to do! My picture and backing paper are from Joanna Sheen's Past Times CD2 and feature some of my favourite animals - horses and chickens!
I have treated the design very simply as the colour and backing paper are quite bright, so I have merely matted the image onto silver card and added some punched snowflakes in iridescent paper. The card is flat enough not to attract the higher postage rate too.
Thanks for stopping by and do feel free to comment - I enjoy reading them all.

DragonsDream TIO#116 - A Symphony of Flowers
An unusual sight for the far north of Scotland - a photograph taken in full on sunshine! I think I have all the ingredients in the recipe for this tag, a pinch of greenery, button butterfly.
The blue tag was washed in Distress stains, picket fence, milled lavender and victorian velvet. Overstamped when wet with the vine border, floral edging and large cornflowers (stamps coloured with markers). The large flower is one from a digi set from Caroline's and I added a scrap of music tissue tape from Tim Holtz to complete. The smaller flowers and stems have been glazed for added bling.
Thanks for visiting me and do feel free to leave a comment - I enjoy them all.

Postcard Travels with Roland Poland - Week 21 England
Xui has come to England to join in the Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations (only corgis allowed). Roland Poland, not wanting to be on the east coast in case he bumps into the Black Dog from Whitby, travels up the west coast to visit his half-brother Malcolm, in Carlisle.
He writes:
Hi Malcolm,
Great day meeting up with you & the lads again.
We certainly took the town apart.
Here is the photograph that was taken in the backyard
of the betting shop. Pity you're not on it but
someone had to take the photo.
R.P.
PS. Had to have ANOTHER bath as one of
you lot has got fleas. Thanks!
Here is the page I made for his travel book
I have selected my choice of iconic images, the map, flag, sporting insignia, a page from the Doomsday Book and the Royal Pavilion at Brighton (my favouritist place of all!)
The postcard is a collage of stamps from Joanna Sheen (thanks Wanda!) and I Brake for Stamps together with free clip art coloured, cut out and mounted. The brick wall stamp has been coloured with watercolours.
I do hope you will visit the other travellers on this most interesting challenge (link at sidebar).

CD Sunday Challenge - Easy Elegance
I am playing catch-up this week as working outside has taken priority over crafting!
My card uses a script backing paper in ivory and pale pink from Artylicious Decadent Brocade CD. The mat layer is made with Glimmer Mists and the corners punched with a Martha Stewart punch. The image is from Joanna Sheen and has been stamped in Archival Ink Plum.
The roses are made from punched paper scraps that were wiped through the left over Glimmer Mist ink. A white ribbon completes.
Thank you for stopping by and do feel free to leave a comment - I find them all hugely encouraging.

Postcard Travels with Roland Poland - Week 20 West Africa (Nigeria)
Whilst Xui is on a trade mission to Nigeria, his wife takes advantage of the opportunity to add to her substantial jewellery collection sourcing 'blood diamonds'. Roland Poland, left to his own devices, decides to make himself known to the locals and wanders off into the countryside.
He writes to his brother Malcolm,
Hi Malcolm,
Went to a local village and the witch doctor came out and started
dancing around me. He was waving a bone and when I jumped
up to get it, I bit his finger.
I think he put a curse on me because I have just seen
the Black Dog from Whitby following me around again.
RP
Here is the page I made for him in his travel book.
I made the witch doctors on the postcard from grunge paper and jute fibres and coloured with Sharpies. You can see the photo of the Lassa witch doctors that inspired me (all photos courtesty of Wikipedia Commons). The large carving of an Edu woman is made of ivory and the large outcrop is Zuma Rock a famous landmark to visitors of Nigeria.
Do come and visit all the travellers on Darcy's Postcard Challenge (link in sidebar).

Postcard Travels with Roland Poland - Week 19 Bulgaria
Roland Poland, half asleep under the table, hears Xui say "We must go and see Bulgaria".
When he wakes, they are gone so he makes his way immediately to Wimbledon Common, where he meets
up with Great Uncle Bulgaria and the other Wombles.
Great Uncle Bulgaria tells him of the beauty of his homeland and lets our hero look at The Atlas. He then explains how Wombles, when they reach a certain age, choose their own names from The Atlas.
Roland writes to his brother Malcolm,
Hi Malcolm,
Am helping the Wombles with their recycling. Just found
some fish and chips and recycled them myself.
They never touched the sides!
I must be related as I chose Poland from the Great Atlas.
Uncle Bulgaria mentioned our family tree, but I
can't tell which one it is.
RP
Here are the travel pages I made for his book.
There is a photo of the Bulgarian countryside, a page from a newspaper printed in the Cyrillic alphabet, the flag and a very nice set of dog stamps released by BulgarPost. The postcard was made with Stampscapes stamps and copic markers.
I thank you for all your lovely comments and suggest that you go and see all the other travellers and their stories on Darcy's Post Card Challenge (link in sidebar)

Postcard Travels with Roland Poland - Week 18 New Zealand
Having apologised to Axel Skislope for his heavy handed use of salt, Roland Poland is reunited with Xui. Axel was delighted to wave goodbye to our canine warrior who had more than doubled his salt bill in one week! They fly immediately to New Zealand where Xui is a VIP guest on The Lord of the Rings Tour.
He writes to his half-brother Malcom,
Hi Malcolm,
Found our ideal retirement home. It is a Hobbit House
where everything is just the right size.
And guess what? -
There is a convenient tree right by the front door. Does
life get any better than that!
RP
Here is the page I made in his travel book
My postcard uses a stamp from Lavinia Stamps and is coloured with Stampin' Up markers. The travel book uses images of Fijordland National Park, a portrait of Maori Hinepare and a lovely set of stamps of dogs and the alphabet from NZ Postal Service.
Thank you for visiting and do please leave a comment. I recommend that you visit the other travellers in Darcy's Postcard Challenge (see link in sidebar), you will be amazed at the wonderful artwork.

DragonsDream TIO #115 - Behind the Mask
The chipboard tag was painted in white acrylic paint and then I pressed some bubble wrap into the surface when the paint was wet, the bubble wrap had been used previously with silver paint. I then painted some lilac through sequin waste and then stamped a small script stamp from PaperArtsy with aquamarine Archival Ink.
The butterflies are from a Stewart Gill stencil and I used magenta and lilac acrylic paint to pick out the design. I then doodled with silver pen on the images to bring out the colours.
Thank you Elizabeth for this most interesting challenge. I got covered in paint and had a thoroughly enjoyable time. Thanks for stopping by and do feel free to leave a comment - all are most appreciated.

CD Sunday Challenge - Chocolate, Cream and One Other
My simple little A6 card uses an image from the Mabel Lucie Attwell CD. It is matted onto chocolate brown card and then onto a cream Nestabilities shape. Walnut Stain Distress Ink around the edge and a small ribbon and cream satin rose to complete.
Plain cards are a big hit in my family so this one should be very well received! Thanks for stopping by and do feel free to leave a comment, I appreciate every one.
