Rainbow Lady's Challenge #109 - Ice Cream

Neapolitan is one of my favourite ice creams so this was easy! The image is from a template I have had for ages and never used before as is the backing paper - both are from Stamptv. The image is coloured in with pencils and OMS and also Marvy Brush Markers. I have used glossy accents on the raspberry topping to give that shiny slipperiness of melting ice cream.

The sentiment is a Janet original and is handwritten with my new best friend a 0.1 black fineliner. The jury is out as to whether I should have done this on the computer instead.

Enjoy the hot weather and eat plenty of ice cream!

  7. Janet, neapolitan is indeed one of the best. Your card is also very delicious looking. I love the image of the ice cream cone and all the fine coloring you have done. It is beautiful. Now I must tell you that Thursday night my dh and I decided to go to Bruster's ice cream place. We had a BOGO coupon so we got the waffle cones. I watched in horror as she piled in 4 scoops of toffee fudge i.c. While she was filling dh's cone, I started eating, b/c mine had started to melt. The sticky stuff began to run down my hand and arm. Everywhere I licked the cone got soft and started to leak. I was so impatient to get to the car and turn on the AC. DH's didn't run like mine. I got paper towels from the trunk and wrapped the cone with 4 or 5 sheets and managed to stem the tide somewhat. However, we were 20 minutes from home and I wanted to put the cone in the freezer (too big to eat at one sitting). When we got home we figured out why the quick melt. The temperature was 102° F!!! I did salvage some of the ice cream and cone by getting it into the freezer asap. Moral of the story is: in over 100° weather, get only small cones.
