CD Sunday Challenge - Tassels

I've gone all formal with this one!  I had half a sheet of the lovely blue and gold metallic chinese paper from Joanna Sheen's Ivory Cats and was determined to use it somehow.  I cut out the tag shapes with my new TH  Artful Dwellings die, stamped half a Clarity diamond trio onto the sides of each point and embossed with gold ep.  With one of the smaller Clarity corners, I stamped into the point and embossed again with gold ep.  I attached my tassel through the smaller tag.  The gold mat is made with Grace's Frame Cuttlebug embossing folder and I used a royal blue base card to fix it to.  The gold flourish at the top is a Nestability Floral flourish and it is only about the second time I have ever used that set.

Bah! Humbug! #42 - Presents

For this week's challenge I had an opportunity to use my latest Cuttlebug folder Flourish Frame. I think it is really attractive - just a little difficult to find something small enough to fit inside! The backing paper is by Artylicious - Seasons Greetings and the stamps were a freebie in a Do Crafts magazine. The parcels were coloured in with Sakura Metallic and Stardust pens.

Bah! Humbug! Challenge#38 - Across the Miles

Because there is a Cuttlebug folder as a prize this week I guess I was subliminally influenced to echo it in my offering this week. I hardly use them and I should, particularly this Holly one as it is lovely and the results are so different each time.Backing paper is from Crafty Ann's Embossed Dots Earthtones collection (green). The embossed image has been swiped over with a Versamark pad and then embossed with Gold EP. The berries are red Pearlidoodles. It was then simply matted onto gold metallic card and mounted with the computer generated sentiment onto dark green and then onto the gold base card.A tiny piece of gold ribbon was attached to one corner of the image to give more sparkle.Thank you for visiting and please feel free to leave a comment. DragonsDream TIO#54 - Emboss it - Cuttlebug

The cuttlebug folder I have used is called "You". I intended never to buy a small folder again but I saw this and I had to have it. Visions of embossed metal etc. sometime.

The theme for the tag is Father and Son and I have used a lovely Crafty Individuals stamp. I bought this because the text made me laugh and also the "son" looks very much like my husband John when he was a teenager. I have placed the images near the words that apply to them. John's dad was a first officer on supply ships on the Russian convoys in the war and was torpedoed many times and survived many hours in the freezing waters. Extraordinary he certainly was, strong and dear.

The "son" is near loving and fantastic and under precious because that is what he is to me.

I hope you like my sentimental tag - I enjoyed making it and thinking about things while I did so.

CD Sunday Challenge - Girl Power

I know that this image is not exactly what the challenge is all about but it seems to me that this sort of "power" has been mighty successful over the years!

The image and backing paper are from Pandora's Box by Gwyneth Windsor. There are some really unusual images and topics on this CD and I think I will use it quite alot more in future. I decoupaged the bathing beauty and cut two nestie shapes and cuttlebugged them with the "You" embossing folder for mounts. In keeping with the retro look I made a border using an MS deep punch and completed the look with an irregular folded card.

Bah! Humbug! Challenge 16 - Snowflakes

I've had a rest this week and let my cuttlebug do most of the work! This card is the prototype for our 2010 bulk Christmas cards. It also has the advantage of being flat so will post at ordinary rates.

The bp is from Papermania's A Wonderful Christmas Time 6 x6 paperpack. The die cuts are by Sizzix and Cuttlebug.

All I had to do was lightly colour with DI Fired Brick and add lashings of Diamond Stickles and a red ribbon.

Dragonsdream TIO Challenge #35 - Embossing

I had a French theme in mind for this week's challenge and decided on Marie Antoinette.

That immediately suggested pearls and opulence and the colour scheme of light and dark blue. The crown and fleur-de-lis go without saying.

I cuttlebugged the tag with the fleur-de-lis embossing folder and then sanded it and coloured with blue, navy and black inks.

The main image was stamped with black archival ink and edged with gold. The crown was stamped and embossed onto acetate.

The flourish and fleur-de-lis were cut out with the help of the Cricut and friend Wanda who showed me how to use it. Pearls were added to the swirls as they were Marie Antoinette's favourite jewels.

Rainbow Lady's Challenge 97 - Through the Window

As I had no window templates and knowing I am lethal with a craft knife (having been despatched by the sword in a previous life!) I decided to stick to something safe!

My image is one from Joanna Sheen's Childhood plate. It is coloured with pencils and blended with OMS. I wanted to give the impression it was a picture on the wall of a living room so I used the Spellbinders Classic Frame, created a dado rail and Cuttlebugged embossed paper below.

The soft green embossed dots paper used for the 'wallpaper' was part of the prize for being lucky enough to win Crafty Anns challenge last week!
