Last Enchantment Altered Book Page - The Green Man

The image of the Green Man is a freebie from the very talented artist Jay's blog as drawing this would be way beyond my capabilities.  I have coloured the image with Derwent Inktense pencils and then used a crackle stamp from Sheena Douglass and a border stamp from Clarity Stamps to complete the design.  The poem on the opposite page is suitably creepy and called Green Man in the Garden by Charles Causley and has been coloured with Pan Pastels.  The pages have been coloured with Distress Stains and overstamped with green Archival ink with a flourish stamp from Fiskars.

DragonsDream TIO #117 - To Dye For

My tag has been made using the kitchen roll I use to put under objects when I spray Glimmer Mists!  I have been very pushed for time lately - working outside in the fields,  so I thought that I would use a ready made background.  I have stamped a woodland scene with a background stamp from Impression Obsession in cocoa Archival ink and some willow fronds from Creative Expressions in library green Archival ink.  The die cut is from a Sizzix steel rule die, cut in cardboard and then embossed with a Cuttlebug folder.  The bird has been coloured with picket fence Distress Stains, walnut stain Distress Ink and the embossed swirls glazed with rose glaze from Crafty Notions.

Postcard Travels with Roland Poland - Week 22 Thailand

Xui is gambling again on the Thai Boxing Finals in Bangkok and Roland Poland learns a fascinating fact.

He writes to his half-brother Malcolm

Do you know that the dog 
on the stamp was a stray 
that was adopted by H.M. The King of Thailand.  
Talk about falling off the Co-Op roof and landing
in the Divvie!  
Wouldn't have minded being rehomed with the

The dog to which our hero refers is Khun Tongdaeng - The Royal Dog.  She was adopted by the King as a tiny puppy in 1998 and raised  with a litter belonging to another of the King's dogs.  In 2000 she had a litter of 9 puppies of her own and they all live with H.M. The King of Thailand.  A First Day Cover was produced in 2006 to illustrate the activities of Khun Tongdaeng and her family.  I have included a picture of this in Roland Poland's travel book.

My postcard of Thai boxing is inspired by a photograph I saw on The Lonely Planet site.  I have coloured the background with Distress Stains Shabby Shutters and drawn the figures with grey Copic Markers.  The travel book shows scenes of great beauty around Thailand.  I should love to visit myself one day.

Bandana Technique

This is my entry to Art-Cards-Challenge-Blog using the Bandana Technique.  I have never tried to do this form of decoration and have given it my best shot after looking at various examples.  I must say, I found it almost as addictive as zentangling!
My background is blended Distress Stains, Peeled Paint and Broken China and I have used a La Blanche flourish stamped in black ink and outlined and shaded with a black fineliner pen and a white Pentel pen.
I thoroughly enjoyed making it and may well do some more in the future.  I think a more 'line art' stamp would be better next time but can see lots of possibilities.

CD Sunday Challenge - Spots and Dots

I have used Kirsty Wiseman's Patty Picklicious CD for the retro spotty papers that cover the bird house - made from a Sizzix die and an empty cardboard box.  The bird is from the Tim Holtz Birdcage die.  It has also been cut from stiff cardboard and then covered in modelling paste and I used a small embossing tool to make the relief spots on its body.  When it was dry I used Spun Sugar Distress stains to colour.  I also used the Spun Sugar to stencil the vine die cut (using the negative part) onto the card.  The green vine is the die cut from the same  Sizzix die.
