What a Lovely Surprise!

Just thought you might like to see the new additions at Redmoss!  One of our lady pheasants gave us the great honour of being introduced to her new brood of 10 (I think) chicks.  She brought them out last evening onto the terrace where we feed all the birds.  In this photo they are just making their way  back, after tea,  into the woods nearby.  This is what it is all about!  Marvellous!

  2. Fabulos picture but I think there are 11, even so what a priviledge to have her bring her youngsters to you, she must feel safe.
Thank you for sharing this precious picture with us.

  4. What a treat, Janet, to be able to witness this! About the poison ivy, think nettle. Years ago while in northern Scotland (more westerly than you) I walked down a country path along a stream, not knowing that the plants I was brushing against would cause me such lasting pain and itching. At that time cortisone ointments were not an over the counter item at the chemist's there as they were at home, so I had to suffer till I got back home. Poison ivy is like that only it makes oozy sore and itchy places.
