Not one but two entries this week! As usual for me, I did the first one (the green wreath) back to front and got a different look to the burgundy wreath which was done the correct way around!
To make this, all you need is a fancy edged circle or flower punch that will more or less fit across the cd. I used a 1.75 inch scallop circle punch. Punch out about 12 shapes in both dark and light paper and cut them in half. With a drop of pva or a zig pen stick each half circle to the cd and overlap the next one on top, alternating dark and light paper. The idea is to let the scallop edge show! As you can see in the green one I mounted the half circles the wrong way around! To finish off, punch out a picture from a xmas card or stamp one and mount it on a decorative circle and fix to the centre.
I added red and gold pearly doodles to the wreath and practised a spot of bow tying with some co-ordinating ribbon.
I think these would make a lovely centre piece for a large heavyweight card or stick two together and you have a tree ornament.
The paper I used was from Artylicious.
Thanks for stopping by and feel free to leave a comment. I find them all very encouraging!
Now thats using your noggin!!! I would never have thought of doing that. To me use a CD is using images from a CD, not the CD itself - DOH!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the 2 different effects and the both work!

Wow, these are spectacular! I think I like the 'wrong' one marginally more but that's maybe just me being a plain and ordinary gal....they really are brilliant.
ReplyDeleteHi Janet, two lovely CDs, I think they are both really great and |I wouldn't have known any different about the 1st if you hadn't said!

Talk about clever! Wow, Janet, this is amazing. At first I thought the center thing was covering up the CD and all the scalloped peripheral adornment were outside the area of the CD . Then I figured out the size of the piece when you gave the dimensions of the scalloped circles. This is so neat, beautiful. I feel a bit ashamed over the blue thing I posted. It probably took less than 5 minutes to do. It took far longer to post than to make.
ReplyDeleteJust have to echo everyone else. WOW!! They look amazing and you are right, they would make a wonderful centrepiece. I could also see several attached to a ribbon as a festive wall hanging. Brilliant.
