CD Sunday Challenge - Art Nouveau

Posted by PicasaDoesn't time fly! This is my final week as Guest Designer and I must say, I have thoroughly enjoyed myself looking at all your wonderful creations. Our theme this week is Art Nouveau, and for this card I have used the Peacock Summer Party CD by Artylicious for the papers. The main image comprises an ornate screen stamp by StampCamp and a lovely lady stamp from Debbi Moore which has been embossed and decoupaged in front of the screen. The mount behind has been stamped with a Clarity flourish and embossed with cosmic shimmer Arctic Pearl ep. The corners are punched with a punch from Stampin Up which I must confess I find extremely hard to use. The swirl flourish is from Marianne Creatables and the flowers are moulded from punched pearlescent paper with tiny gems for centres. A co-ordinating irridescent purple and gold ribbon completes.
I apologise for the dark photograph but we have not had many days good enough to take a decent picture with my little camera.
Thanks for stopping by and I do hope you will join us this week at CD Sunday Challenge. You will be made very welcome.

Bah! Humbug! #8 - Things that Fly ...

Posted by PicasaMy little Ezybelle angel was flying before she got caught up in the Christmas tree! She has been coloured with Copics and mounted on some Artylicious Christmas script paper and then onto some rather retro looking paper which was a freebie in Crafts Beautiful magazine. I have randomly glittered some of the circle and so it sparkles very nicely.
The rather apt sentiment is also by Ezybelles.
Thanks for visiting and do feel free to leave a comment - I find them all very encouraging.

Crafty Ann's Challenge #35 - Happy Birthday

Posted by PicasaGood morning crafters! Our challenge over at Crafty Ann's is Happy Birthday. My card is a large 8 x 8 and I have used Ann's Rose Posy digi stamp which includes the posy and single stem rose. The flowers are coloured with Copics and mounted onto an embossed Cuttlebug frame called Scribbles. The backing paper is Ann's Abstract in pale brown which I think gives a lovely silky fabric look. An embossed sentiment and ribbon complete. I also added a little crystal glitter to the single rose bud for interest.
Do come and join us at Crafty Ann's Challenge as we love to see your wonderful creations and you will be made very welcome!

DragonsDream TIO # 69 - Fun and Games

Posted by PicasaI need some fun at the moment! Thanks for lifting my spirits Frankie with this challenge. My main image is a vintage digi from TLC which has been coloured and cut out. I sponged the background using Bordering Blue (Stampin Up) and Bundled Sage DI. The trees from Clarity are stamped using Marvy Markers and the foliage is Peeled Paint on part of a Clarity larch tree.
The sentiments are from the very useful Alice in Wonderland set from Clear Art Stamps.
Thank you for dropping by and please feel free to leave a comment - all are always appreciated.

Rainbow Lady's Challenge #141 - Shabby Chic

Posted by PicasaGood morning friends! I have used Clarity Stamps small silhouette stamped in vintage sepia Versafine onto pink/beige cardstock. The pearly frame is cut with nesties and mounted onto matted layers using Bearly Mine Shabby Chic papers. I love these designs and use them quite often on my gentler cards. The flowers are punched with a 6 petalled flower punch and then embossed with the Textile Cuttlebug folder. A smaller punch and a pearl completes.
Thanks for stopping by and do feel free to leave a comment - I find them all very encouraging.

Bah! Humbug! #7 - Use a CD

Not one but two entries this week! As usual for me, I did the first one (the green wreath) back to front and got a different look to the burgundy wreath which was done the correct way around!
To make this, all you need is a fancy edged circle or flower punch that will more or less fit across the cd. I used a 1.75 inch scallop circle punch. Punch out about 12 shapes in both dark and light paper and cut them in half. With a drop of pva or a zig pen stick each half circle to the cd and overlap the next one on top, alternating dark and light paper. The idea is to let the scallop edge show! As you can see in the green one I mounted the half circles the wrong way around! To finish off, punch out a picture from a xmas card or stamp one and mount it on a decorative circle and fix to the centre.
I added red and gold pearly doodles to the wreath and practised a spot of bow tying with some co-ordinating ribbon.
I think these would make a lovely centre piece for a large heavyweight card or stick two together and you have a tree ornament.
The paper I used was from Artylicious.
Thanks for stopping by and feel free to leave a comment. I find them all very encouraging!

CD Sunday Challenge - Get ahead Get a Hat!

Posted by PicasaGoodmorning crafters! Today's challenge over at CD Sunday is hats. I thought I might make a man's card today and paid another visit to Joanna Sheen's Fashion Boutique. The backing paper was from the Accessories section. The stoppers on the easel card are a trilby and a top hat that I cut out, mounted separately and fixed under the ribbon. The hat names are computer generated.
I do hope you will join us this week and I look forward to seeing what wonderful creations you come up with.

DragonsDream TIO #68 - Paying Spring Forward!

Posted by PicasaWe have had a lovely warm spring-like day here today, so it wasn't too hard to imagine all the flowers blooming in the hedgerows. Snow is forcast for the weekend but looking at the plants in my garden, spring is just around the corner. This time last year we had 3 feet of snow!
I have used the Spring bouquet from Stewart Gill for the main image, the branches are by Elusive Images and the primroses are from Cute Companions "In the Garden" set. I hope you like my take on spring and thank you in advance for your comments - they are much appreciated.

Bah! Humbug! #6 - Doilies

Posted by PicasaJust a clean and simple card this week. The poinsettias are from a Marianne Creatables die and have been sponged with Gold Brilliance ink and then dusted with Brass coloured mica powder. The centres of the flowers have been glittered. The sentiment is from Crafty Bitz and was in my runner up prize last year from Humbug Hall.
Thank you for visiting and please feel free to leave a comment - they are most appreciated.

CD Sunday Challenge - Swirls and Pearls

Good morning Stampers! Our challenge over on CD Sunday today was suggested by Design Team member Tess. What a lovely theme to get the old creative juices flowing!
My image is from Joanna Sheen's Fashion Boutique. I love the rich dark colours and this was reflected in the backing paper from Artylicious. The image was mounted on circles and frames cut with Nestabilities and mounted onto a cream piece of card stamped in black with a lovely swirl background stamp from Stampin' Up. Pearls were added to the frame and also the stamped flourishes. A piece of black frogged braid was added to complete.
I do hope you like this romantic card and hope that you will join us over at CD Sunday. I look forward to visiting your blogs and seeing how you interpret our swirls and pearls theme this week.

DragonsDream TIO #67 - Time

What's the Time Mr. Wolf? This was a game we all enjoyed playing although it scared the life out of me! One person would be It or Mr. Wolf and all the other kids (usually a huge crowd) would taunt him asking him What's the Time? Mr. Wolf would reply 1 0'clock, 2 o'clock etc until the crowd of children were close to him then he would shout Supper Time and chase and catch somebody. They would then become Mr. Wolf. This was all accompanied by much screaming and hysteria. Wonderful! I guess you get the same thrill now when the VAT are after you!
Stamps are by Clarity and Crafty Individuals.

Crafty Ann's Challenge #34 - Love is All Around

Love is All Around over at Crafty Ann's Challenge. Why don't you join us?
I have printed one of Crafty Ann's necklace digi stamps onto acetate and included the sentiment within the image. The necklace was then glittered in silver on the reverse and mounted onto a 5" doily. The backing paper is Ann's pink embossed hearts and the butterflies were punched out of scraps of other Ann papers with a Martha Stewart punch.
Thank you for calling by and do feel free to leave a comment - I appreciate them all.

CD Sunday Challenge - Friendship

I was so excited to be asked to be February's Guest Designer for my friends at CD Sunday Challenge. Thanks for asking - I'm having a ball.
This week's challenge is sponsored by Debs from Debbee's CDs and from the images she supplied, I chose the chickens - no contest really as I love any sort of birds. The images come from "An Assortment of Animals" CD1. I made a henhouse from the backing papers and the gorgeous couple have been decoupaged in front of the sunflower strewn pop-hole. The corny sentiment was computer generated (excuse the pun!). Don't you just love those toe-nails!
Do come and join us this week at CD Sunday Challenge and you could win one of Debbee's CDs and I look forward to visiting your blogs to see what you have come up with for our theme of "Friendship".

Christmas Tree

Posted by PicasaThis simple card is for two challenges this week.
1. Bah ! Humbug! #5 - Buttons and Bows
2. Sparkles#1 Challenge - Christmas Tree
I have used Elusive Images stamps and embossed them in Snowflake Tinsel embossing powder.
The barrel was cut out and decoupaged onto the main image. The larger tree decorations were made by sticking tiny buttons onto them and then covering with Crystal Stickles. Two silver bows complete the card.
I am very pleased with the way this has turned out as it is very glittery and 3 dimensional and needed no other embellishments. It was very difficult to photograph due to the reflections so I apologise for the rather dark photo. Have a zoom in and you will see all the sparkliness!
Thanks for visiting and do feel free to leave a comment. I appreciate them all.

Rainbow Lady's Challenge #138 - Chinese New Year

Have been having a play with My Craft Studio this afternoon and merged some WordArt with the gorgeous rabbit from The Graphics Fairy. The stamps are from Papermania. I am still getting the hang of using Copics to colour in but will get there eventually! Hope you like it. The writing depicts the word Love.
Thanks for stopping by and please feel free to leave a comment as they are all appreciated.

DragonsDream TIO # 66 - Zentangle

I had a go at this whilst I was watching tv last night as I found that the distraction of the tv actually assisted me! Only trouble was, I found it difficult to focus on the small designs as my close up eyesight is not what it was. Mr Magoo glasses for me for future zentangles!
My tag was precoloured with DI Forest Moss, Crushed Olive and Spiced Marmalade. The button flower stamp was this month's Craft Stamper offering. I have stuck one of John's shirt buttons in the middle of the flower (hope he doesn't notice!) If you detect one or two sharp edges in the design, you can guess what sort of a week I have had.
Thanks for stopping by and do leave a comment, I find them very encouraging
