Rainbow Lady's Challenge #146 - A Night at the Movies

My movie is The Wizard of Oz and those beautiful shoes belonged to Dorothy.

Just a plain and simple 6 x 6 card, the only decoration being some dry embossing and a Black Soot edge to the main image. Dorothy's shoes are coloured with Sakura Stardust pen, the bows are glittered and heart confetti added to the uppers.

The stamps are by Clear Art stamps and are all about the Wizard of Oz and nicely compliment their other set Alice in Wonderland (which also landed in my basket).

DragonsDream TIO#74-Tag on side with Paint and Paper

Had a lovely time making this. I used a piece of corrugated cardboard and die cut a tag using my new best friend, Sir Tim's Tag and Bookplate die. I then peeled off some of the paper and painted it with Periwinkle Eco paint and Lilac acrylic paint. The pier, kite and beach hut stamps are from Rubbadubbado (one of the first ones I ever bought) and the seaside and gulls are from Crafty Individuals.

The images are coloured in roughly with felt tips and I swiped a white ink pad over the whole lot. The reinforcing hole counts as the paper addition to this tag! I am really pleased with the textured look this tag has and will certainly use this method again.

Thanks for dropping by and please feel free to leave a comment - I love keeping in touch.

CD Sunday Challenge - Transport

Have reverted to what I enjoy doing the most - making pictures!

My base is a really useful sky background from Joanna Sheen's Baby Love CD.

I have masked and sponged the landscape using my favourite non-colours Memento London Fog and Desert Sand. The trees are coloured with Distress Inks Forest Moss, Brushed Corduroy, Crushed Olive and Pine Needles. The hot air balloons are from Stampin USA and Clarity. The sentiment is from Creative Expressions.

Thanks for visiting and do leave a comment as I enjoy reading them all and keeping in touch.

Two Challenges

Posted by PicasaGood morning to you all! I have made a contemporary Christmas card this week - not my usual style at all. The image is by Hero Arts and has been coloured with Copics, the backing paper is by DCWV (I was given a huge pad of papers for a present from Anna who taught me to ride my horse). I have added a die cut strip along the bottom and glittered the edge as well as the stars on the tree. I am entering this card into two challenges
1. Bah! Humbug! #12 - Christmas Trees
2. Crafty Hazelnuts Christmas Challenge #13 - Square Card
Thanks for stopping by and do please leave a comment - I appreciate them all very much.

Crafty Ann's Challenge #37 - Be Inspired by an Elvis Song

Posted by PicasaElvis sang so many songs, it wasn't difficult to find one I wanted to turn into a card! This is the challenge over at Crafty Ann's Challenge Blog. My card is inspired by the song'Wooden Heart'.
I have used Ann's Heart with Wings digi stamp and printed it out twice onto white card as thick as my printer would take (about 180gsm). The reason for this is because I used Tim Holtz Woodgrain embossing folder to emboss the texture onto the card. These folders are very textured and the embossing digs deep into the card. Sometimes, if thin card is used, the embossing causes the card to split.
I then cut the image out and coloured the wings with Wild Honey and Rusty Hinge Distress Inks. The heart was coloured with Brushed Corduroy and Walnut Stain. I cut out the second heart, coloured it the same and added it with foam pads to the complete image. The backing paper was similarly embossed and coloured with Walnut Stain and mounted onto one of Ann's tartan papers in blue and gold. The sentiment was computer generated.
I do hope you will come over and join us at Crafty Ann's - see what you can do with an Elvis song!

DragonsDream TIO #73 - Dreaming Haute Couture

Posted by PicasaI used a lace backgrounder from Stampin USA and stamped it with a Versamark pad. I inked up the brayer in Pretty in Pink (Stampin Up) and brayered a resist background. If you look closely you may be able to make it out. The colour is a bright baby pink but as it is such a dull day, I cannot get a decent photograph without loads of glare.
One of the dress forms is cut by my Cricut and the other is a stamp from Clear Art. The model is by Debbi Moore and the mail stamps from Crafty Individuals. The flowers were punched from a piece of music and edged with pink and the centres are black Stickles. As you can see I raided my bead box and put a few onto a header pin with the ribbon.
Thanks for stopping by and imagine a candyfloss pink tag!

CD Sunday Challenge - Wild Thing

Posted by PicasaHaving had a Formula 1 horse ride this morning I immediately thought of a wild bucking bronco for this card! As you can see from the picture, I took the photo in the last of this afternoon's sunshine - hence the long shadows.
The image and frame are from Joanna Sheen's American Frontier CD and the backing paper was a freebie on Stamp TV. The sentiment is a freebie from Elegant Word Art and seemed so appropriate. I have finished the card with just a piece of twill tape and some gardening twine.
