Rainbow Lady's Challenge #188 - The Year of the Dragon

I love making oriental style cards, so had to have a go this week!  My embossed squares are from a Judikins Clay Squisher texture plate and have been embossed in gold onto paper coloured with ink pads (direct to paper).  The dragon from Stampin USA is similarly embossed in gold onto black.

Thank you for stopping by and do feel free to leave a comment - I find them very encouraging.

DragonsDream TIO #106 - The Da Vinci Code

When we went to Manchester in August, to visit our youngest daughter, Eleanor, we were lucky enough to see an exhibition of H.M.the Queen's Da Vinci drawings and sketches at Manchester Art Gallery.  Apart from being blown away by the energy and power of  his work, I was fascinated by his use of drawing medium - red chalk. I just assumed his drawings would be in grey, black or brown but many of them - including a large sketch of seed heads like the Queen Anne's Lace, were drawn in a very bold red.  Over the centuries the colours have mellowed to russet and honey but this only adds to their charm.
I have used stamps by Penny Black, A Stamp in the Hand, Judikins  and Stampin' Up for my tag. The inks used are Memento Rhubarb Stalk, Distress Inks Aged Mahogany, Fired Brick, Wild Honey and Dried Marigold.
Thanks for visiting my blog and do feel free to leave a comment - I appreciate them all.

TIO Challenge #80 - Fishes

Fish are a favourite of mine!  I love the textures and colours and they make wonderful pets (not bad with chips either!)  My salmon tag is stamped with a Judikins Clay Squisher plate called 'Oriental' in black Versafine using the masking method.  The fins are highlighted in black 3D gel and glitter.

I do hope you will join us at Dragon's Dream TIO this week and show us your take on the theme.

DragonsDream TIO #46 - Inchie by Inchie

I have learned a valuable lesson today. I saw the challenge and immediately set about making a tag which I was very pleased with. However, when I re-read the instructions Frankie had specified that the inchies should cover the tag and mine did not. So I had to make another and this is it.

The colours used are copper, shabby shutters and dried marigold. The stamps are by Elusive Images. The background stamps are by Clarity (floral flourish) and my latest favourite, a crackle stamp by Judikins that we got in our goody bag at the very good Stamp Addicts Retreat last month.

Thanks for dropping by and remember - read and re-read the challenge criteria - it is surprising how we often get the wrong end of the stick!

Feel free to leave a comment, all are appreciated.

CD Sunday Challenge - Just for You

Thought I would have a change from pretty cards and do a slightly sinister one for a change.
The image is from Baby Love CD from Joanna Sheen. I embossed the card behind the image with black and mounted it onto a piece I had stamped with the spiders web from Lavinia Stamps. The final layer is stamped with a crackle stamp from Judikins. I have used DI Shabby Shutters and Old Paper.

Hope you like it - I had fun making it! Please feel free to leave a comment, they are most appreciated.
