My CD is Essence of Nature by Artylicious and the stamp is from the new themeplate of the same name by Elusive Images. I love it! Hope you like it too.

Dragonsdream TIO #56 - Windows

I love the shape of gothic arches so decided to make my window from stone blocks and the view into the garden. The stamp is from Tall Trees theme plate by Elusive Images which has been stamped in black and clear embossed. Hope you like my tag this week and thank you for all your lovely comments.Posted by Picasa

Crafty Ann's Challenge #24 - Anything But A Card

Who says your own artwork isn't good enough to frame!

Crafty Ann's Challenge this week is Anything But a Card. I used one of Ann's Music Collages and decoupaged the violin and roses to give dimension and added Glossy Accents to the roses for extra shine and depth. Coloured pencils and Odourless Mineral Spirit were used to colour the
Collage. You get a lovely blended finish without the expense of Pro-Markers or Copics.

The roses on the frame were made using Crafty Ann's Funky Papers yellow/orange. They were punched out using a 6 -lobed punch and each flower is three layers. The edges of each punched flower have been distressed, inked with walnut stain DI and rolled over a wooden skewer for shape and interest. The bases of the layers were cut to fit and glued together forming the flower. Foliage was punched from scraps of coloured paper.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you will join us over at Crafty Ann's and show us all the treasures you have made!

Bah! Humbug! #36 - Text

I'd like to give something back this week. Two presents from a spot prize on this challenge quite a few weeks ago, the text backing paper and the ribbon.

The angel stamp and verse is by Clarity Stamps and the latin text is from The Stamp Man.

I wanted to keep this clean and simple, and to me the verse says it all. I am a big time fan of angels. Angels are amongst us all the time, they keep us safe.

Rainbow Lady's Challenge #119- Feathers

Gone native this week and used some of the lovely feathers I have collected from the game birds. They are such beautiful colours and patterns it is a shame just to throw them away and not appreciate them for a second time. The pheasant and partridge feathers are not from our birds, I hasten to add, but from birds the gamekeeper gave us last year from a nearby estate.

The owl stamp is from Crafty Individuals and has been embossed with Copper EP and the image coloured very lightly with blue, green and orange. Due to the bad light up here it is impossible to take a good photograph. It all looks very dull compared to the original.

I hope you like this, I enjoyed watching it evolve. I hardly ever have a set idea in my head when I start something. Anyone else like me?

Thanks for visiting and please feel free to leave a comment as they are very much appreciated.

DragonsDream TIO #55 - Bead-Dazzle

My tag this week involves lots of stamping and sticking.

I made the background by stamping the paisley Elusive Images stamp all over the tag in Pear Tart and Cantaloupe Memento inks. I stamped one image separately and embossed it in black EP and cut it out. Sections were coloured in the green and orange inks. Not being very handy with beads at all I used seed beads in red and orange for the flowers and green bugle beads for the leaves on this image, stuck with dries clear glue.

Clarity Wild Rose corner was stamped in Coffee Bean Brilliance and single flowers from Stampin Up set Quick Cuts. I made a circle of complimentary coloured beads from a selection box I bought in Au Naturalle years ago to put through the top.

I apologise for the rubbish picture but winter time hours have descended on Northern Scotland and using artificial light caused white glare spots on the tag.

Thanks for visiting my blog and please feel free to leave a comment - all are appreciated.

Moonlight Serenade

My Rainbow friend Christine was my card swap partner this month and the topic was Full Moon. I fancied another try at brayering and also to make use of my lovely brick wall stamp from I Brake for Stamps.

I first stamped the wall and masked it off. I stamped the cat and embossed it with black detail EP and then brayered Memento Cantaloupe over where I wanted the moon to be, let it dry and then masked that off with 1 3/4" circle. Stampin Up Eggplant was brayered around the moon but left much lighter towards the top of the wall. I removed the moon mask and quickly striped some Memento Rhubarb across the moon for extra depth and colour.

The wall mask was removed and I aqua painted several colours of DI to colour the bricks. I then overstamped, with black Archival ink, the silhouetted ferns and weeds.

I do enjoy this sort of card craft and had great fun watching the picture evolve.

Hope you like it and please feel free to leave a comment - all are appreciated.

CD Sunday Challenge - Shades of Blue

I fancied getting inky for this one and make a picture. I didn't expect it to turn out quite so "nationalistic" but I suppose using only blues and white was asking for trouble!

The tree image is by Elusive Images and I have used four shades of blue ink, Nearly Navy, Brocade Blue and Bordering Blue from Stampin Up and Baby Blue by Memories. The trees are clear embossed and then I masked the card off and had a play.

The plaid paper is from a Papercraft Essentials CD - The Craft Collection. The sentiment is computer generated.

Thanks for stopping by and please leave a comment - all are welcome.

Two Challenges

This card fits in nicely for two challenges this week

1. Rainbow Lady's Challenge #118 - Black, White and Silver and
2. Bah! Humbug! #35 - Using Preferred Mediums

The tree stamp is by Elusive Images and I received this in one of their Grab Bags. It is not an easy stamp to use and it took quite a while to prime it ready to make a good image with Archival Black ink. The sentiment stamp is from a copy of Craft Stamper magazine and made a nice change from the usual Christmas sentiments.

The black and white images are mounted onto white, then black and then silver card. The ribbon is a lovely silver mesh.

Thank you for stopping by my blog and please feel free to leave a comment.

Crafty Ann's Challenge #23 - Monochrome

Over at Crafty Ann's the latest challenge is to use shades of one colour or monochrome.

For this card I used Crafty Ann's Graduate Cat image - don't you think he is a very handsome and distinguished kitty?

His black robe is embossed with black detail ep and he is coloured with crayons using odourless mineral spirit to blend. Weathered Wood DI was sponged inside the nestie frame to highlight him. The scroll is made from rolled up vellum and tied with black twine (should be silk, I suppose, but twine was all I had got!)

The backing papers are also from Crafty Ann's - the grey star embossed, grey abstract and black and white wood effect which was used to make the flower.

Fancy having a go yourself at a monochrome card? Come over and join us at Crafty Ann's - you will be made very welcome!

DragonsDream TIO#54 - Emboss it - Cuttlebug

The cuttlebug folder I have used is called "You". I intended never to buy a small folder again but I saw this and I had to have it. Visions of embossed metal etc. sometime.

The theme for the tag is Father and Son and I have used a lovely Crafty Individuals stamp. I bought this because the text made me laugh and also the "son" looks very much like my husband John when he was a teenager. I have placed the images near the words that apply to them. John's dad was a first officer on supply ships on the Russian convoys in the war and was torpedoed many times and survived many hours in the freezing waters. Extraordinary he certainly was, strong and dear.

The "son" is near loving and fantastic and under precious because that is what he is to me.

I hope you like my sentimental tag - I enjoyed making it and thinking about things while I did so.

Please feel free to leave a comment, I do appreciate them all.

CD Sunday Challenge - Animals

I fancied trying something different for this week's challenge - well, different for me.

The cat stamp came with Craft Stamper a while ago and the flourish stamp is from Stampin' Up (one of their gorgeous backgrounders). The script Pussy Cat red paper and the Black Cat Silhouette paper are from Diane Dorward's CD "Cats". The grungy flower is made with 5 layers of papers punched with a scallop circle and heavily scrunched. I couldn't spritz the layers as I would normally do because the water would have made the ink run.

Bah! Humbug!#34 - A Christmas Carol or Song

The Twelve Days of Christmas is my chosen song and A Partridge in a Pear Tree is verse one. I used the glitter on acetate technique and have made a right mess in my craft room! Glitter is everywhere - on my face, in my hair and all over the floor. Am posting this before going and having a shower to cut down the fallout.

The image is by Elusive Images and is the first time I have used it even though it is a couple of years old. Corners are by my trusty MS punch. The sentiment stamp is by Crafters Companion. It looks very pretty and glittery in real life and I am pleased how it turned out.

Rainbow Lady's Challenge #117 - Dreaming

When I dream I often see faces and eyes so I had to include those in my 4 x 4 page.

I first made a cloudy background using violet, pink and lavender over a very pale blue pearlescent card. I then stamped the clouds and sun with Eggplant ink and then the gothic arches. The sunface was stamped in shades of grey and coloured with violet and pink and added with dimensionals. The vellum butterfly is courtesy of a MS punch and coloured lavender.

I enjoyed making this and I must say that I was heavily influenced by the 3D version of Avatar that I saw at the cinema recently!!

DragonsDream TIO#53 - Oriental in Two Colours

Been away on holidays for the past couple of weeks so this is the first time for what seems ages that I have been able to take part in the TIO Challenge.

Willow Pattern screamed out to me so here is my version. Swallows were stamped for the background in Mediterranean Blue Brilliance Ink and the vase and blossoms were coloured with glaze pens in blue and white and added with dimensionals. The lady is a silver peeloff coloured with a permanent marker and stuck over blue paper and the pagoda is another peeloff similarly coloured.

All the stamps are by Lakeland and are rather old. They sold some lovely crafting things and I was very sad when they stopped the crafty line.

Thanks for looking and please feel free to leave a comment - always appreciated.
