DragonsDream TIO#76 - Something with a Pocket

I was watching a programme on television about the school regime in Victorian times and that got my mind wandering.

My stamps are by A Stamp in the Hand and Crafty Individuals. My pocket is the teachers gown (also with pockets) and the insert in the pocket is the Scholars Monthly Report. Glad I wasn't around then! I have used DI Scattered Straw, Fired Brick and Aged Mahogany.

Our internet problems are still very much with us and I have had to schedule this post whilst it is working, to make sure it gets published. Please bear with me while these problems persist. I will be visiting all your work just as soon as I can.

Thanks for stopping by and do feel free to leave a comment - I miss you all!

Internet Connection Problem

Just to let you know that we have been experiencing serious internet connection problems here at Redmoss Ramblings. The BT service is very intermittent and totally unreliable at the present so I do apologise if I have been very quiet lately! A specialist engineer is scheduled to pay us a visit on the 27th April so hopefully we can rock and roll again. I miss you all and apologise for not commenting on your blogs.

Crafty Ann's Challenge #39 - Fancy Folds

A lovely morning to you Crafters! Our challenge starting this week over at Crafty Ann's is to make something using Fancy Folds.

I am letting Ann's beautiful Mottled Stone papers speak for themselves - I have printed lilac on one side and sky blue to the other side of a piece of 160 gsm paper, cut a cross and formed an aperture by folding back the triangles and securing with a brad. I sized the digi Duck and Umbrella stamp to fit, coloured with Copics and glaze and taped it to the yellow mat behind. The flowers are made with scraps of paper left over.

I do hope you will join us this fortnight and look forward to seeing what you can create!

Rainbow Lady's Challenge #148 - In the Springtime

Jen forced me out of my comfort zone to make a cute card. The little love birds digi by Sliekje certainly fits the cute bill and some!

The backing papers are by the very talented Kirsty Wiseman. The punched border is a Pansy Border Punch by Martha Stewart and is top of my next shopping spree wish list. The image is coloured with Promarkers.

Thanks for calling by and do feel free to leave a comment - I appreciate them all.

DragonsDream TIO #74 - A Tag by any other shape

This week I have been dreaming in ancient Greece. My background was made using wax paper, glossy card and an embossing folder. This makes an embossed resist that can be coloured with inks, this one is DI Fired Brick. The stamps belong to Jen's daughter, make not known, but the sheet is called Bleeding Hearts. The stamps are inked with DI Aged Mahogany. My centrepiece is my first foray into air dry clay, terracotta colour and a sweet mould. I am very pleased with the result. Thanks for stopping by and do feel free to leave a comment - I love keeping in touch.

Rainbow Lady's Challenge #147 - Lilac Wine

I chose this stamp, by StampsHappen as it has a great sentiment. The image has been coloured with Promarkers and glittered with coloured Stickles for a bit of sparkle. It is simply mounted onto an embossed panel and then onto a piece of textured lilac card.

Thank you for stopping by and leave a comment if you like. They are all appreciated.

A Crafty Kind of Truffle - April Tag Challenge - Baby

This is a new tag challenge to me, my pal Jen encouraged me to take part and I am glad she did! All these stamps belong to Jen so it was a really nice change to use 'new to me' crafting stuff.

The words, by Scrappy Cat, are stamped in DI Peeled Paint and clear embossed. The infant is by Papernation and coloured with Promarkers. The lovely quilt background is a stamp from Carolines and has been sponged with DI Tumbled Glass and coloured with Promarkers.

Thank you for visiting and do feel free to leave a comment - I enjoy all your support.

CD Sunday Challenge - A Song in My Heart

What a lovely challenge this week. I have enjoyed making this as I have been able to delve into my friend Jen's box of stamps. The swan is by Clarity and has been coloured with Promarkers. The music stamp is by Kaisercrafts and the hearts are from Lavinia Stamps. The backing paper is from the Floral Fantasy CD by Artylicious.

Crafty Ann's Challenge #38 - Raise a Smile

Good morning! Crafty Ann has a fun challenge starting today - Raise a Smile! I had a good laugh making my card for the challenge. I have probably watched far too many westerns on tv but I couldn't resist slapping a saddle, hat and bandana on the lovely dachsund digi.

The background is created from torn pieces of the embossed dots paper in sky blue and light green. The sentiment is from TLC. The saddle, hat and bandana are free clipart.

Look forward to seeing you join us at Crafty Ann's Challenge Blog.

DragonsDream TIO #73 My Townscape Triptych

Never done a triptych before, especially not one in a hurry! I am off to London tomorrow for the Alexandra Palace craft show. So excited!

It was also difficult to photograph all three tags together as it has been a very dark and dismal day here in the Highlands.

I have used Sir Tim's Townscape die as my starting point and then stamped a Crafty Individuals street coloured with copics. The iron railings and gate are by the Unmounted Stamp Company and the trees are Clarity and Stampin Up. The gate sentiment is PaperArtsy. Bench and flowers are by Lavinia Stamps.

Thanks for stopping by and do feel free to leave a comment as they are much appreciated.

CD Sunday Challenge - Someone Special

If you were a fairy, what plant would you choose to represent?Everyone can't be a rose fairy or a foxglove fairy or something equally gorgeous. Someone has got to be the cabbage fairy.

This card is dedicated to all you CABBAGE FAIRIES out there!

All of you who get on quietly doing unglamourous jobs for the good of us all.

Talking today to my daughter Eleanor, who is doing a nursing degree at Manchester, made me think of all the countless folk who just get on with things and hardly ever have their time in the spotlight.

My fairy, by Sweet Pea Stamps, is called Bad Hair Day and has been coloured with copics. The sentiment is by Tlc and the backing paper is from Joanna Sheen's Cottage Gardens CD.

Thanks for stopping by and please feel free to leave a comment, they are all appreciated.

CHNCC #14 - Christmas Foliage and/or Flowers

Just a very simple layout for this card as I think the image and sentiment are quite enough in themselves.

I have stamped and embossed in white the mistletoe script stamp and sentiment from Elusive Images onto Kraft card. The mistletoe leaves are coloured with glaze and the berries are white Dotties all from Crafty Notions. I have added just a touch of glitter to the leaves, berries and the border of the sentiment tag. Some co-ordinating ribbon completes.

Thanks for visiting and do feel free to leave a comment, it is lovely hearing from you.

Bah! Humbug! #13 - Cards that make you giggle

My husband says that there is not much to laugh about at Christmas - it costs too much money!

Perhaps my little mouse will cheer him up. The stamp is by Ezybelles and has been coloured with copics. The backing paper is by DCWV as is the ribbon tape. Not quite tartan but nearly!

Thanks for stopping by and please feel free to leave a comment, all are very much appreciated.
